One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Vrouw Universum took the lead after a very quick start.

Vrouw Universum was in fine shape and held the lead. A bird flew just in front of Wolly Heat who started to galop and lost 50 m.

Stretching Closet looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Wolly Heat couldn't come out from behind the leader, Vrouw Universum.

Vrouw Universum kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.
