The weather had been good all week and Rovaniemi was in good shape.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Solid Sound found a gap and took the lead. Gilbert followed before Centipede.




Gilbert quickly put pressure on the leader and could take the lead after 500m. Solid Sound started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified. A bird flew just in front of Paavo who started to galop and lost 50 m.

Centipede won. Rantanen came in second. Gilbert caught third place.
