One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Charmed Thought sprinted away from the competitors and took the lead.




Magic Sight saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead.




Mønlight looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Charmed Thought couldn't come out from behind the leader, Magic Sight.




Standings after 1500m . Lane one Magic Sight followed by Mønlight and Charmed Thought. Lane two Tamatea followed by Serafina and Brave Sunshine.



Magic Sight kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.






Charmed Thought sprinted over the finishline before Serafina and Magic Sight.
