One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Cosenza tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to New York City that came steaming ahead.

Perfect Silverheart quickly put pressure on the leader and could take the lead after 500m. En Sup Per År Superior showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galoping.

Perfect Silverheart clinged on to the lead after a 1000m.

Gotta Go Home looked to be in good shape this day and took the lead after 1500m. Nowhere Man galloped way to long and was disqualified.

Gotta Go Home kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.

Cosenza sprinted away from the rest of the field and won quite easy.
