One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





New Pony could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.




New Pony was looking sharp this day and continued in the lead. A bird flew just in front of Emanuela who started to galop and lost 50 m.




Porta Pia looked tired after 1000m but had to keep up the tempo so that Maximum Missile couldn't come out from behind the leader, New Pony. Emanuela galoped after 1000m and lost 40 m.




Standings after 1500m . Lane one New Pony followed by Sad Brightness and Ceredigion. Lane two Porta Pia followed by Maximum Missile and Emanuela.




New Pony kept the speed up and no one had a chance to take over the lead.



New Pony kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.
