One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Light Top was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead.




This is the positions after 500m. Kingdomofhappiness, Mysterious Way, Razzmatazz, Carlos Winter, Gold Lieutenant, Jackass Hoof, Light Top, Bold Cake. Dreaming Missile started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified. A bird flew just in front of Mysterious Way who started to galop and lost 10 m.




Gold Lieutenant sprinted past the competitors and took over the lead. Jackass Hoof galoped after 1000m and lost 50 m.




Nothing seemed to be able to stop Gold Lieutenant today. It continued in the lead. Something caused a disturbance in the field and Dreaming Missile gallopped for 30 m.



Gold Lieutenant kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.

Mysterious Way galopped for 30 m on the homestretch.




Radiating Jewel won the race after a spectacular finish.
