The weather had been good all week and Åby was in good shape.
One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Funky Garden was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead.
This is the positions after 500m. Boscherie, Funky Garden, D'anton, Close Action, Grasping Gossip, Jumping Starshine, Walking Boulder, Hollywood Princess.
No one seem keen on putting pressure on the leader so he could keep his own tempo.
Boscherie was still in the lead after 1500m.
Walking Boulder seemed to be in top-form this day and took over the lead.
Walking Boulder kept a high tempo and was first in on the homestretch.
The spectators cheered much on the homestretch and probably caused Just Bandwagon galop. Just Bandwagon lost 50 m.
Funky Garden sprinted over the finishline before Walking Boulder and Jumping Starshine.
