One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Âme Charitable tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to Avril that came steaming ahead. Robin Swedberg wanted a little to much in the start and Front Folder galoped for 40 m.
This is the positions after 500m. Germain, Slippery Beard, Leaving Cape Town, Grande Penne, Âme Charitable, Happy Pearl, Birdgoestweet, Cheerful Body. Avril showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galoping. Front Folder galloped for 60m and was disqualified.
Leaving Cape Town sprinted past the competitors and took over the lead. Âme Charitable galoped after 1000m and lost 50 m.
Happy Pearl sprinted past the competitors and took over the lead.
Leaving Cape Town won. Slippery Beard came in second. Grande Penne caught third place.
