Only a few clouds could be spotted on the sky this day. Haapajärvi track was in top-condition.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Gold Purple Needle sprinted away from the competitors and took the lead. When the startcar left the field Anabatic Wind started to galop and lost 10 m.

Gold Purple Needle was looking sharp this day and continued in the lead.

Gold Purple Needle clinged on to the lead after a 1000m. Chilla Nu Va Gumman galoped after 1000m and lost 30 m.

Comfortable Sergeant accelerated after 1500m and took the lead. Something caused a disturbance in the field and Chilla Nu Va Gumman gallopped for 50 m. Playing Hollywood galloped for 60m and was disqualified.

Comfortable Sergeant sat safely in the lead when they started the homestretch.

Chilla Nu Va Gumman galopped for 40 m on the homestretch. Wandering Glam galoped way to long and was disqualified.

Gold Purple Needle won. Anabatic Wind came in second. Comfortable Sergeant caught third place.
