One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Happy Bouquet could eventually take the lead after a very dramatic start.
This is the positions after 500m. Cheerful Comet, Playing Fall, Happy Bouquet, Cheerful Puma, Elastic, Loving Angel, , . Loving Angel started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.
Playing Fall sprinted past the competitors and took over the lead. Cheerful Puma showed unexperience when he was disqualified for galoping.

Elastic won. Loving Angel came in second. Playing Fall caught third place.
