The sun was shining on Suonenjoki and it was a perfect day for trotting.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Lonely Astronaut found a gap and took the lead. Sweet You Thing followed before Express Sound.

Sweet You Thing was in fine shape and held the lead. Sweet You Thing started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.

Sweet You Thing was in great shape so far and looked happy in the lead. Sweet Dreams Victory was disturbed and galoped 20 m. Starksomfan Pegasos galloped for 60m and was disqualified.

Standings after 1500m . Lane one Sweet You Thing followed by Sergeant Sniper and Big Launch. Lane two Pineapple Bubblegum followed by Express Sound and Lonely Astronaut. Lonely Astronaut started to gallop after 1500m and Seppo Markkula had to struggle to get it back in trotting.

Sweet You Thing sat safely in the lead when they started the homestretch.

Express Sound never caught up with Big Launch who won. Pineapple Bubblegum came third.
