The weather had been good all week and Åby was in good shape.
One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Super Svensson found a gap and took the lead. Admiral followed before Former Champ.

Maid, Lightning Star.
Crossing
Tropic took the lead after 1000m. Super Svensson didn't have a good time being caught on the outside.
Super Svensson looked to be in good shape this day and took the lead after 1500m.
With only a little left of the race Super Svensson galoped for 10 m. Admiral speeded up in the last bend and was first on the homestretch.
Super Svensson won. Admiral came in second. Crossing
Tropic caught third place.
