The weather had been good all week and Harstad was in good shape.

One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.

Rugged Bomb was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead. When the startcar left the field Champion Of Gold started to galop and lost 40 m. Senior Advicer suddenly started to galop. Asbjørn Mehla had to struggle to get Senior Advicer to tror again and succeded after 20 m.

This is the positions after 500m. Champion Of Gold, Mighty Boy, Gele Me Tresche, Rugged Bomb, Ernestina Bakaou, Gennaio Larockma, Jetset Red Planet, Senior Advicer. Rugged Bomb started to galop after 500 m and was nearly disqualified.

The leader got disturbed by something and Gele Me Tresche took the lead rather easily.

The spectators cheered much on the homestretch and probably caused Senior Advicer galop. Senior Advicer lost 10 m.
