It had been raining for several days at Sodankylä but the sun was shining this day a the track was in good shape.



One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.





Heavy Sergeant took the lead after a very quick start.




Almudena saw it's chance when the leader lost tempo and took the lead.




Valente Bia sprinted past it's competitors after a 1000m and took the lead.
