One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Stifling Vixen was looking particularly good and could easily take the lead. When the startcar left the field Powerful Speed started to galop and lost 30 m.
This is the positions after 500m. Powerful Speed, Delberghe, Stifling Vixen, Electric Needle, , , , . Electric Needle was disturbed and galoped 50 m.
No one seem keen on putting pressure on the leader so he could keep his own tempo.
