One after another the horses came out on the track for the obigatory parade. After some warmup the horses lined up behind the car as it began to move down the track.
Rolling Venus tried its best to keep the lead but finally had to give in to
Girmor Cherry that came steaming ahead. When the startcar left the field Sahara Hoof started to galop and lost 40 m. When the startcar left the field Coughing Madame started to galop and lost 50 m.
Girmor Cherry was in fine shape and held the lead.
